i've been m.i.a. as of late, but for good reason. My show opened up the other day and we had tech earlier this week. Basically, all I've been doing is working on that sort of stuff and trying to write (and failing miserably at the latter).

Hopefully, I'll be going to LoveFest this weekend, though I haven't gotten a hold of anyone yet. I better get on that.

and just for good measure, i've been listening to this nonstop

I have a day off from rehearsal. I had planned on sleeping in, but that was definitely a no-go. Instead, I woke up at 6:50 to take my brother and sister to school and then returned home to amazingly watered-down coffee.

I'm going to work on writing today. I've always found that the best thing for me is to work on a show and write at the same time. I need to be with other people, talking, etc. but then after all the intensity of rehearsals, I come home/go to the coffee shop and just need to be quiet.

Speaking of my contradictory nature, even though I know and online test about myself is probably bullshit, I took a MeyersBriggs/Jung Typology Test.
I'm an INTJ. (44, 62, 12, 33)
Evidently, this means that I'm an:
* moderately expressed introvert
* distinctively expressed intuitive personality
* slightly expressed thinking personality
* moderately expressed judging personality
.
I have no idea what any of this means and it might as well be in another language, but evidently I'm supposed to be a scientist or work in a library. Yet, my profile is also called The Rational Portrait of the Mastermind. Makes me sound like I'm going to be a librarian that plots world domination in her spare time.
The best description? Although they are highly capable leaders, Masterminds are not at all eager to take command, preferring to stay in the background until others demonstrate their inability to lead.

All that really matters is that Angela Lansbury is evidently an INTJ.

Just finished Season 2 of Dexter. Season 1 is better imo, but gotta love the ending to the second season.

*Digital Kitchen, the makers of the Dexter opening credits

also did the opening credits for True Blood, Six Feet Under and Shark Week (hah!)

I'm half way through S2 of Dexter. Other than that, I've been sick with a small bug that makes me feel like someone is tap-dancing on my skull. Awesome.

Today will try and make soup, paint, work on grad school application info and write. I'll probably make it to the soup making part and take a nap, instead.

So I don't have rehearsal for the rest of the week. This would be a positive... except for we open in two weeks. So, fun? not so much. But I'm exhausted, despite my lack of a normal job, so the break is welcome.

I really hope that I can go to (read: scrounge up enough money) for The Treasure Island Music Festival. It looks awesome.

I CAN'T WAIT TILL SUNDAY

"He pointed at, Sometimes one simply wants to disappear.
I pointed at, There’s nothing wrong with not understanding yourself.
He pointed at, How sad.
I pointed at, And I wouldn’t say no to something sweet.
He pointed at, Cried and cried and cried.
I pointed at, Don’t cry.
He pointed at, Broken and confused.
I pointed at, Something.
He pointed at, Nothing.
I pointed at, Something.

Nobody pointed at, I love you.”

I'm finalizing my Grad School List. It seems impossible to narrow it down to 13 schools, and this isn't even counting the double programs I'm applying to. I'm hoping to get into a school that promotes Interdisciplinary work since I'm interested in screen/play/traditional fiction writing.

Rehearsals are full speed ahead, we're hopefully blocking the majority of the show this evening. I think I might find out if it's possible to take photographs during the RP.

I made Pasta Carbonara the other day.

Looks relatively sketch, but tasted oh so good.

also made a Rasberry Trifle
Homemade whipped cream, rasberries and Danish rasberry jam, white chocolate, and leftover Angel Food Cake.

My sister and I have already eaten a good portion of it.

And some drawings

5 things

1. You can hear the future calling today, and you are eager to pick up the phone and get things rolling. But you aren't sure how seriously to take the opportunity. Don't waste energy worrying whether or not the phenomenon is real; it actually doesn't matter. The point is that you can engage your imagination by taking the time to listen.
Sweet fortune.

2.
i want to be Melanie Laurent (Inglorious Basterds)

3.
i need this nail polish in my life

4.
i'm about to begin this book. Supposedly, it's amazing.

5.
I just saw Taking Woodstock. It's fantastic.

I think i'm going to make a Prinsesstårta today.

After I go to coffee and pick up season 2 of Dexter, that is.

"There is almost no sadness in this story."- Dave Eggers "The Only Meaning of the Oil-Wet Water" from How we are Hungry

SPIES! PLAYING THE GAME OF LOVE-- AND SUDDEN DEATH!

I just got back from seeing a film at the Stanford Theatre in Palo Alto.

It's one of the most beautiful movie theaters I've ever been in, with two stories, frescos and an organ player in between the double features that are show practically every night. Right now it's Hitchcock month, so for Maren's birthday we saw:
The Lady Vanishes

... One of my favorite movies of all time. It's from 1938, starring Margaret Lockwood and...Michael Redgrave, the GQMF himself.

The entire film is on youtube, though I'd recommend seeing it on the big screen. An few of my favorite scenes from the film:
